GVTA's Geocaching Policy

The GVTA recognizes that geocaching/GPS-based games are an emerging activity among outdoor enthusiasts; and that GVTA does not own property and supports the motto of “leave nothing but footprints and take nothing but pictures” on our trail.

Therefore, the GVTA is not in a position to allow permission for the placement or establishment of geocache/GPS-based game stations along the Grand Valley Trail. In the event where permission is requested to establish a geocache/GPS-based game site on public property (i.e. owned by a municipality, Grand River Conservation Authority, the Crown) the individual may wish to contact the appropriate government agency to obtain permission.
