About hike: Say goodbye to fall and welcome the coming cold weather! Winter is a time for excitement and celebration! You are invited to join this short hike combined with a summer activity, in celebration of the change of season. We'll do a short hike along the Grand River and then head over to the sports fields at RIM Park for around 45 to 60 minutes of kite flying. I have the kites - two for low winds and one suited for higher winds which takes a couple people to launch. The kites are suitable for flying by adults but no experience is required, and it's fun! If there is rain or strong winds forecast for this day the hike will be postponed to October 30.
Kite flying provides a unique blend of physical exercise, mental rejuvenation, and educational growth. Far from just a simple childhood pastime, it serves as a full-body and holistic mental wellness activity.

About the leader:
Ron has been leading hikes for over 10 years, first for the GHTC and now for the GVTA. He recently became a certified PaRx Connector with the PaRx program of BC Parks Foundation.
About this series of hikes:
This series of hikes and other activities will be led by Ron as a PaRx Connector. PaRx is about connecting with nature, something that hikers do almost everyday. If you are new to hiking, you are welcome here! If you are looking for places to go hiking, this club and myself as a hike leader and PaRx Connector can help with that. If you are already familiar with the PaRx program and have a prescription for nature from a health care provider, this series of hikes is one way in which you can utilize that prescription.
