ABOUT GVTA

The GRAND VALLEY TRAIL ASSOCIATION (GVTA) is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization with a mandate to build and maintain hiking trails and promote hiking in the Grand River Valley in southwestern Ontario. We are a member of Hike Ontario.

The Grand Valley Trail is a marked footpath of about 250 km that is strictly for pedestrian use. Motorized vehicles are not permitted on the footpath. The trail follows the Grand River watershed, starting in the village of Belwood to the river’s outflow near the town of Port Maitland. In addition to maintaining the trails, the GVTA offers organized hikes and produces maps of the Grand Valley trail available in a printed guidebook and an online map application.

The work of the GVTA is made possible thanks to membership fees, the generous time of our volunteers, and corporate and individual donations. Consider supporting us with a donation.

Enjoy the trails.
