About this hike: This hike will be in Belwood Section: Wilson Flats to Elora Gorge. We will experience this jewel of the Grand Valley Trail through a wide variety of dirt tracks through hardwoods on the side of a ravine down to the river to wide grassy lowlands. We will start from the parking area at Wilson’s Flat near the trailhead and proceed from there to the Elora Gorge conservation area where we will stop for a snack/break, after which we will retrace our steps back to the parking area.
Please be sure to request your free Elora Gorge conservation pass through the GVTA before the hike as that will cover our admission into the conservation area (the pass covers walking in, but not parking at the conservation area).
About this series: Jewels of Grand Valley Trail is a series of hikes highlighting the beautiful parts of GVT in all 4 sections. Those hikes will range from about 6 km to 15 km. They will be led by Jeanette, Jane, Eva and Brandon through months of August to October. Come and enjoy the beauty of our trail!
Tanya has been leading hikes with GVTA and GHTC for the better part of the year. She loves the outdoors and has spent much of her time hiking up mountains in Canada and around the world. She enjoys getting out with like-minded people who enjoy interesting conversations, the smell of nature, and the peacefulness it brings outside and inward. Exploring new locations is always at the forefront.
