For those who plan to attend a number of advertised hikes (available in hiking club newsletters), a commercial copy of an Ontario road atlas is recommended. Two of the most common Ontario Road Atlases used are published by MapArt Publishing and Rand McNally Canada. Hiike leaders who submit hikes for publication in newsletters and/or on websites will state the meeting place and may provide driving directions. Having a quality and current road atlas (e.g. one with back road names) plus the trail guidebook (e.g. GVT Guidebook) will be an asset for navigating your way to the meeting place. Two versions of the MapArt Publishing road atlases are shown below.
