Levels 1 to 3 and Speed (e.g. moderate) - explanation
Thursday, November 11, 2010 – Waterloo Wellington Canoe Club - 25th Anniversary Speaker Series
At 7 p.m. James Raffan - Canadian author, Executive Director of the Canadian Canoe Museum will speak at Resurrection High School Room 101, 455 University Avenue West, Kitchener. Have a look at the May 2010 issue of CANADIAN GEOGRAPHIC TRAVEL. There is a great article by JAMES RAFFAN. In it he describes his solo canoe trip starting just south of Guelph Lake on the Speed River and ending at the mouth of the Grand River where it enters Lake Erie. James grew up in Guelph on the banks of the Speed River. He now lives near Kingston and is known as a "canoe guru". James is the executive director of the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough as well as the author of several books including Emperor of the North and Fire in the Bones. The article and accompanying photos paint a wonderful image of one of our favourite local paddling destinations.
